Who we are

We are Matt and Kristin, married for 24 years and proud parents to five incredible humans. We live in Denver and are soaking up our first year as empty nesters.

After raising our crew, we found ourselves staring at a rare window of time with no little kids at home, and knew we had to chase a dream while we could. So here we are, backpacks packed, setting off to wander through South America and Europe for a year.

Stick around — it is bound to get a little messy, a lot of fun, and absolutely unforgettable!

Hey there! I’m Kristin, and I’m thrilled to have you here. I’m a birth and postpartum doula, a lifelong learner, and someone who's trying to figure out what it means to grow, heal, and reinvent myself in this new chapter of life.

After raising five kids, I’m now stepping into the empty nest years with a backpack, a lot of curiosity, and, honestly, more questions than answers.

When I’m not chasing adventures, you’ll find me watercolor painting, hiking, or spending time with my family and friends. I love hearing people’s stories and learning from them—it’s one of the most beautiful ways to connect. And right now, I’m so excited about all the people and cultures I’m about to experience over the next year as we travel through South America and Europe.

If you’re standing at the edge of a new chapter too, feeling a little unraveled, a little brave, and a little unsure, trust me, you’re not alone. Stick around. Let’s figure this out together.

Heyo-I’m Matt!

I’m a proud dad, husband to my partner-in-crime, and an adventure-seeker who juggles being a software designer, professor, and entrepreneur.

I’ve always loved travel—it’s one of my favorite problems to solve. I thrive on planning epic adventures that are trying to get us from “Here” to “Wow, did we really do that?” Whether it’s mapping out our next trip or making the best out of the messes we find along the way, I’m all in.

When I’m not plotting our next escape, you’ll find me chasing my fitness goals, carving the slopes, camping under the stars, hiking trails less traveled, or doodling buildings that catch my eye. Travel is an adventure that I love pursuing, and I feel like we’re just getting started.
